Altitude Diver Course

Some of the world’s clearest fresh water can be found in high-altitude rivers, lakes and springs. But diving above 1,000 feet requires a lot more than just hoping your dive computer does all the work for you. For example:

• You need to know how to adapt sea-level dive tables for use at altitude in case of computer loss or failure.

• You also need to know what restrictions may apply before you can safely drive home through a high-altitude pass.

• You may even have to account for residual nitrogen in your system if you drive to altitude within 24 hours of starting your dive — even though you didn’t get wet during that time.

These skills and more are covered during the Altitude Diver course.
