After graduating Tulane with a degree in Biology, Jon decided diving was a much more rewarding way to make a living. Since starting Dive World in 1982, Jon has watched it grow into the region’s leading dive center. Jon has logged over 5,000 dives, certified more than 2,000 divers and holds Instructor Trainer ratings from multiple agencies.

Anna grew up in the dive business — starting in a crib her father Jon installed behind the repair bench. After graduating Texas A&M with a degree in Marine Science, Anna worked on a research vessel for two years before returning to Calhoun to manage the store. She is a Master Instructor and teaches regularly.

Since first becoming certified in 1988, Training Manager Larry Johnson has made over 2,000 dives, trained several hundred students and instructors — and still finds time to work as an arson detective for the Gordon County Sheriff’s Department.

You’ll find Vicki working the store most evenings and Saturdays (except, of course, when she’s teaching one of our scuba classes). Vicki’s sister, Anna, got her into diving as a teenager and, ever since, this has been the love of her life. Vicki also teaches fifth grade at South Hill Elementary School.

Tom Wilson is the store’s lead technical instructor and also manages our service department. A Captain with the Calhoun Fire Department, Tom says being immersed is the perfect antidote to a day spent fighting fires. An active cave diver, Tom leads our many trips to the Florida springs.
